Enjoy photos from Alumni Weekend The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) welcomed alumni, friends, and students back to campus for the 2025 Fall Symposium and Alumni Weekend, sponsored by the UKCD Alumni Association, held October 17–18. The annual event brought together generations of Wildcat dentists to reconnect, celebrate achievements, and explore the latest advances shaping the dental profession.
In September, University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) students, faculty, and staff volunteered at the Remote Area Medical (RAM) event in Lick Creek, Kentucky. The College’s long-standing involvement in these events has been led by Dr. Ron Singer, Division Chief of Public Health Dentistry, whose dedication has inspired many to participate. Through Dr. Singer’s leadership, RAM has become an integral part of the UKCD experience—offering members of the UKCD community the chance to extend their care beyond campus walls and serve Kentuckians in need.
The connection between oral health and systemic disease is well established in adults — but what about children? A team of researchers at the University of Kentucky (UK) is taking on that question with an ambitious new study examining how pharmacological weight-loss therapy may also improve periodontal health in adolescents with extreme obesity.

See below for details on various events scheduled to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lexington’s MLK Holiday Celebration – Annual Freedom March begins at 1 pm, and a commemorative program will be held at 2 pm at Central Bank Center. The march begins and ends at the Central Bank Center. UK’s MLK Day of Service – Saturday, January 13 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm Alpha Beta Lambda’s Unity Breakfast – UKCD has sponsored a table of 10, but individuals may purchase tickets on ABL’s website.

On Saturday mornings throughout the year, when others may be taking time to recharge and sleep-in, you can find University of Kentucky College of Dentistry dental students in their scrubs as they prepare to see patients at Saturday Morning Clinic. UKCD’s Saturday Morning Clinic offers treatment to underserved, underinsured children ages 4 to 12, aiding families who may face barriers in obtaining necessary dental care for their children.
