DMD Program

The UK College of Dentistry is dedicated to excellence in its programs of education, patient care, research, and outreach to underserved populations. Our objective is to graduate dentists who are biologically oriented, clinically competent, socially and professionally responsible, and effective leaders. Established in 1962 as part of the Chandler Medical Center, the UK College of Dentistry has graduated over 2,000 dentists.

UKCD is one of the smaller dental schools in the country, supporting a collegial atmosphere for our learners. We use the latest instructional technologies in combination with a low student-to-teacher ratio to provide exceptional care for our patients and an excellent education for our future dentists.

UKCD believes a dental professional should be well-rounded and committed to serving the community in which they practice. Our dental students are service-minded, and are engaged in philanthropy for the community and populations in need.

I came in as a patient here at UKCD. I met this fourth-year, and she took such great care of me and really opened my eyes to the field of dentistry. From there on, I looked at all dental schools, but specifically UK. I continued to fall more and more in love. It seemed like the most perfect fit. I knew that I would be seen as an individual student here due to the small class size. I was very passionate about digital dentistry, and they are on the forefront compared to the majority of schools. Everyone I met—all the students, faculty, and staff—were so kind and loving. I knew that here, in my most trying and difficult times, they would welcome me and make me feel supported and safe and help me get through this crazy journey that is dental school. I'm so thankful, and I could not imagine myself anywhere else.
