University of Kentucky College of Dentistry dental students will provide no-cost limited dental screenings on select dates in February and March. No appointment is necessary, but participants must be 18 years or older.
Earlier this month, the UK College of Dentistry (UKCD) partnered with the UK College of Nursing to offer the flu vaccine in UKCD’s Diagnosis, Wellness and Prevention Clinic for the first time. UKCD faculty, staff, and students received their shots from nursing and dental student teams in the clinic.
The deadline for posters has been extended to Friday, Feb. 14.
In conjunction with the Vincent A. Barr Visiting Presenter CE course and ASDA Day, the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry would like to extend an invitation to our alumni to participate in a Career Fair. This will take place from 12:45-2:45 pm at the Bill Gatton Student Center. Our goal is to provide the Career Fair as an opportunity for you to speak with current UKCD students about possible employment or the sale of a practice.
The UK College of Dentistry hosted alumni, friends, and students for the Fall Symposium and Alumni Weekend, sponsored by the UKCD Alumni Association. The gathering started on a Friday, October 11, with the awarding of two UKCD Alumni Association Scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to Ashley Arnao (’20) and MacKenzie Brindley (’20), followed by a continuing education course presented by Dr. Aaron Nicholas. The class of 2020 was invited by the UKCD Alumni Association to attend the course alongside other participants.

If you ask dental students at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry why they are interested in pursuing a career in dentistry at UK, many times, they will mention service—their passion for providing community support and the many opportunities they can participate in at UK to provide care and engage with communities. For dental student Jenna Perkins, this calling to serve helped shape her summer before starting her second year in dental school.
On a perfect day for golf, 56 players participated in the college’s annual Alumni Association Golf Tournament. Fifteen teams competed for best score. The top three teams consisted of the following players: First Place: Daniel Passidomo, Andy Bayer, Andrew Cain, and Phil Speelman; Second Place: Shiv Pruthi, Daniel Crain, Connor Leisge, and Dylan Kelley; and Third Place: Tyler Bolin, Rusty Bolin, Joe Roberts, and Cole Hackett.
Dental student members of the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) are ramping up for their largest annual fundraiser of the year—the Strut Your Smile Charity Fashion Show and Silent Auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit the women of GreenHouse17, an advocacy agency serving 17 counties in Kentucky, committed to ending intimate partner abuse in families.
Flu Vaccine Available in the Diagnosis, Wellness and Prevention Clinic The flu vaccine is available in the college's Diagnosis, Wellness and Prevention Clinic, located in MN328, on the below dates. No appointment needed. Bring your UK ID. Vaccine meets UK Healthcare immunization requirements. A limited amount of Fluzone High-Dose will also be available. UKCD faculty, staff, and GME students can receive the vaccine at no cost. UK flu shot badge buddy available. Students and externs may receive the vaccine for $10.
