The Gene P. Lewis Fellowship was created in recognition of Dr. Lewis’ many contributions to clinical care and research in Public Health and Oral-Systemic Health Disparities and his prominence as a leader and role model in the field. The goal of this fellowship is to support professional students, graduate students, pos-doctoral fellows, or junior faculty in the development of meaningful evidence that will ultimately lead to the reduction of Oral Health Disparities in the state of Kentucky. 
The Gene P. Lewis Fellowship is open to indivudals who: 
Are professional school students, graduate students, pos-doctoral scholars or junior faculty
Are professional students or within 10 years of their last professional degree
Have demonstrated a commitment to research related to Oral health, Systemic Health and Health Disparities, as well as academic promise/qualifications, which will be evaluated based on the candidate’s CV, project and the support demonstrated in the supervisor/department head letter,
Hold an appointment or is a student in the Colleges of Dentistry, Medicine or Public Health at an accredited dental school or academic research center in the United States.
