Veteran educator and clinician to help lead integration of College of Dentistry clinical operations into UK HealthCare system.
Kenneth Nusbacher, DMD, MHA, has been named assistant chief medical officer (ACMO) for Ambulatory Dentistry at UK HealthCare, marking a significant step in the ongoing integration of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry’s clinical operations into the broader UK HealthCare system.
Effective July 1, 2025, this transition supports the UK HealthCare’s vision of a healthier Kentucky by aligning the College of Dentistry’s services with UK HealthCare’s ambulatory care framework. He will also collaborate closely with the ambulatory leadership triad.
"I am excited to further connect the College of Dentistry Clinics with UK HealthCare as we move our integration forward," said Dr. Nusbacher. "The goal is twofold: providing enhanced resources for our learners while delivering an excellent experience for all of our patients."
Nusbacher brings more than 15 years of experience at the University of Kentucky to the position. A proud alumnus of both Transylvania University (Psychology) and the UK College of Dentistry (DMD), he began his career in private practice before joining the College of Dentistry as a part-time instructor. He currently serves as an associate professor in the Division of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, and Radiology.
