The College of Dentistry initiated a Grant Pilot Award (GPA) program funded at $25,000 and an Initial Manuscript Award (IMA) at $12,500 to enhance the development of basic, applied, and translational clinical research data and to support the production of peer-reviewed publications, focusing on a process to enhance preparation of grant applications competitive for external research funding. 
Congratulations to below faculty in the College of Dentistry and UK regarding successful competitive review of their proposals:
Dr. Octavio Gonzalez/UKCD (Collaborator: Dr. Stefan Stamm/UKCOM) – “Modulation of oral epithelial cell responses induced by oral bacteria using chemically modified oligonucleotides: A potential clinical translational approach” GPA
Dr. Lina Sharab/UKCD (Collaborators: Dr. Ahmad Kutkut/UKCD; Paige Daney DSIV/Shelby Stein DSIII) – “Cephalometric analysis assessing the validity of ala-tragus line while establishing the occlusal plane in edentulous patient” IMA
Dr. Cristina Perez/UKCD (Collaborator: Aneesha Reddy/DSII) – “The implication of orally administered Xylitol to patients with Early Childhood Caries following full mouth rehabilitation” IMA
