Dr. Sam Callister is a third-generation dentist who was born in Louisville, Kentucky, while his father was
attending dental school. At one year old, his family moved to Salem, Utah, where he was raised.

After high school, Dr. Callister served a two-year mission in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, where he
developed a lasting passion for serving others and strengthening the communities around him. He
earned his Biology degree from Utah Valley University, during which time he explored several
healthcare professions and worked as a plumbing apprentice before ultimately choosing dentistry.

Dr. Callister earned his DMD from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. During dental school,
he developed a passion for periodontics and decided to pursue specialty training. He is currently a
first-year resident in the University of Kentucky Periodontics Residency Program, where he is
developing his expertise in periodontal and implant therapy and surgical treatment.
