February 1: National Freedom Day, honoring the signing by Abraham Lincoln of a resolution that later became the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that abolished slavery. February 1: Lunar New Year, a week-long festival that begins with the first new moon of the lunar calendar, celebrated in China as well as in Japan, Vietnam, Korea, and Mongolia.

As a new means of collecting and organizing useful information and resources for college faculty and staff, a SharePoint site has been created called the UKCD Hub. Users will be prompted to enter LinkBlue details in order to view the site. Currently, the site contains dental clinic Epic training videos and tips sheets, meeting recordings, and useful communications. Additional useful content will be added as the Hub grows. The 2022 Martin Luther King Unity Breakfast involves individuals from all walks of life as guest speakers and program participants. This virtual event is open to every diverse segment of the community. UKCD alumni, faculty, staff, learners, and friends are encouraged to review the college's strategic plan draft and offer input via survey by October 17, 2021. Following an initial survey, focus group work, interviews, and other group discussions, a draft strategic plan has been prepared and posted here. Plan efforts support six pillar areas: Education Clinical Care Community Engagement Research Diversity., Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Review the plan draft here and submit feedback by October 17.
On a perfect day for golf, 15 teams (60 players) participated in the UK College of Dentistry Alumni Association Golf Tournament, competing for best score and other honors-see photos here.
