Incoming postdoctoral candidates and graduate students must follow University of Kentucky Pre-matriculation Requirements, including health immunizations. Additional requirements include Meningitis vaccination for students living in UK residence halls and documented Polio immunity.
Postdoctoral Candidates and Graduate Students are encouraged to have all immunizations prior to initial enrollment. However, immunizations are available for graduate students and postdoctoral candidates through the University Health Service (UHS) once you are enrolled. Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling 859-323-2778. Failure to comply will result in the loss of your privilege to treat patients or to engage in other clinical activities.
Proof of immunizations and annual TB test and Influenza vaccinations shall be submitted or received through Student Health. Each student shall print off their Immunization History and submit it to COD_IMMUNE@uky.edu for inclusion into the database maintained by the UKCD Compliance Office and Project Manager.
These compliance requirements have been established to protect health care providers as well as their patients during clinical encounters. These requirements reflect CDC guidelines and UK HealthCare policies.
The following are required annually for ALL postdoctoral candidates and graduate students involved in clinical activities:
TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire on an annual basis
One dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine is required if a student is present in a UK HealthCare facility at least one day during designated influenza season (October 1 – March 31 each year).
Candidates and students MUST upload all immunization records in MyChart.
An office visit with one of the student compliance nurses IS required to obtain your compliance letter.
Each postdoctoral candidate and graduate student must print off their Immunization History and submit it to COD_IMMUNE@uky.edu for inclusion into the database maintained by the UKCD Compliance Office and Project Manager.
