Digital technologies have rapidly transformed the way dentistry is taught and practiced. This course will explore how innovations such as intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM systems, 3D printing, and digital planning software are reshaping the dental curriculum. Participants will learn how these tools are integrated into pre-clinical and clinical education, the challenges and opportunities they present, and strategies for incorporating digital workflows into teaching and patient care.

Rodrigo Fuentealba, DDS is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where he also currently serves as Assistant Dean for Digital Dentistry. His responsibilities include pre-clinical and clinical instruction of second-, third-, and fourth-year dental students. He serves as Course Director for the third-year Advanced Fixed Prosthodontics and Treatment Planning course, as well as for Digital Dentistry.
Dr. Fuentealba has been recognized with several honors, including the 2015 Colgate-Palmolive Hispanic Dental Association National Outstanding Faculty Award, the 2017 Junior Faculty Teaching Award from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, and the 2018 Great Teacher Award from the University of Kentucky Alumni Association.
He maintains active membership in the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA), and the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP).
