The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) offers a no-cost student dental care service on UK’s campus. Take a look at the below to see if you are eligible. 

FAQs

  • Who is eligible? Starting July 1, 2018, part- and full-time UK undergrads who have paid the UK Health Service Fee in the current semester are eligible for service. Student ID is required at every dental appointment and will be scanned to confirm the health fee has been paid. For example, students who have paid the summer health fee, and are enrolled in the summer or fall, can be seen during the Summer Session. 
  • Where will services be offered? Services are available in the DMD Student Clinic located inside the Dental Science Building on UK’s campus. Students can check in on the second floor of the Dental Science Building. 
  • Who will be providing services? UKCD dental students will provide care under the direction of UKCD faculty and staff. 
  • Will I be billed for this dental care? Select services are available to eligible students at no cost. Should additional services be requested/approved by a participating student, payment will be required for those services.  
  • What dental services are included in this service? Available services include: Dental Exams—2 per 12 months; Dental Cleanings—2 per 12 months; Select x-rays; and Select simple restorative services. 
  • How do I make an appointment? Call 323-6525. Reference “Student Dental Health Service” when speaking with staff. 
  • How quickly can I be seen after calling for an appointment? Times will vary depending on clinic and UKCD dental student schedules. The goal will be to schedule appointments within one business day when possible. 
  • How long will the pilot service be available? Through June 30, 2021, or until funding is exhausted.
