The Orofacial Pain Clinic, founded in 1977, offers patients the advantage of a multi-professional center for the management of complex orofacial pain problems. Dentists specializing in various areas, psychologists, and physical therapists routinely work together to determine the cause of a patient's pain and the best, personalized course of treatment for their condition. 

The unique structure of the clinic allows for effective assessment and management of:

  • Pain Diagnosis & Treatment: Clinicians with extensive experience in chronic intractable oral and facial pain are available to assist with: Management of continuous and episodic neuropathic oral and facial pain; and Management of temporomandibular disorders and associated neck pain and headaches.
  • Children & Adolescents Orofacial Pain: Specialized clinicians are available to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders and other orofacial pain conditions in children and adolescents.
  • Sleep Treatment: Clinicians with extensive experience in dental sleep medicine are available to assist with snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnea using oral appliances.
  • Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology: Clinicians are available to assist with the management and treatment of various conditions, including: Oral lesions; Ulcers; Dry or burning mouth; Sjögren’s syndrome; Oral manifestations of systemic diseases; Oral bacterial, fungal, and viral infections; and Salivary gland problems. Soft tissue and minor salivary gland biopsy services are available.
