Faculty Clinics

In Faculty Clinics, patients are treated by expert UK College of Dentistry (UKCD) faculty dentists. UKCD faculty maintain active clinical practices while educating Kentucky's future dentists. Charges in Faculty Clinics are comparable to those of private dental offices.

General Dentistry

Our general dentistry clinics offer a wide variety of services, including general dentistry for all ages, preventative dental services, crowns, dentures, bridges, implants, root canals (endodontic treatment), esthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and same-day dentistry. Our faculty place special emphasis on dental care for the medically, mentally, and physically complex patient, as well as for dental-fear patients.


UK Dentistry provides cutting-edge, comprehensive orthodontic therapy. Treatment includes age-appropriate interceptive therapy and corrective therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, including interdisciplinary treatments in collaboration with all other dental specialties. Orthodontics faculty members are board certified clinicians and educators. Payment plans and discounts are available.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery 

UK Dentistry Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery doctors are specially trained surgeons who perform dentoalveolar surgery (implants, extractions, and alveoplasty), trauma surgery, repair of craniofacial anomalies, surgical management of facial pain, same-day dentistry, treatment of temporomandibular disorders, and cosmetic treatments.

Oral Medicine 

Our Oral Medicine doctors provide patient care in the areas of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, and Oral Radiology. They focus on identifying and non-surgically managing medically-related conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, including the oral health care of medically complex patients. Dental clearance for patients prior to undergoing a transplant, radiation or chemotherapy treatment, or bisphosphonate/Denosumab use is available. Services are generally offered in the Orofacial Pain Clinic, but depending on a patient's needs, select appointments may be scheduled for the General Dentistry, located inside the UK College of Dentistry.

Orofacial Pain  

This clinic uses a multidisciplinary approach incorporating specialized dentists, surgeons, physical therapists, and psychologists to treat facial pain, neuropathic pain, burning mouth, bite disorders, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), and sleep apnea. The Orofacial Pain Clinic is the first of its kind in the US to be accredited by the Council on Dental Accreditation. 

Pediatric Dentistry 

UK Dentistry offers comprehensive dentistry for children newborn to age 18, with special emphasis on dental care for children with special healthcare needs. UK faculty dentists have  extensively trained in pediatric cases. Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM) treatment is also available to assist in the correction of cleft lip and palate deformities.


UK Dentistry has providers who specialize in the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, periodontal (gum) graft surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, laser treatment (LANAP protocol), minimally invasive surgery/techniques, pinhole surgery, same-day dentistry, and replacing missing teeth with dental implants. UK Dentistry faculty members have extensive experience treating medically compromised patients.
