Do you accept my insurance?

We are participating and in-network with the following:

  • Dental Insurance: AlwaysCare Benefits, Anthem Dental, Avesis, Cigna Dental PPO, Delta Dental Premier, DentaQuest through Anthem Medicaid, Guardian’s DentalGuard Preferred Network and DentalGuard Preferred Select Network Plans, Humana Dental PPO, Kentucky Medicaid, and UK Dental Care      
  • Medical Insurance: Aetna, Aetna Better Health of KY, Anthem, Baptist Health plan, Commission for Children, Humana, Kentucky Medicaid, Medicare, Passport, United Healthcare, and Wellcare

If we are not participating/in-network with your insurance, payment is expected on date of service.  As a courtesy to you, we will file a claim to your insurance and they will reimburse you directly, according to your benefits.

When is payment expected?

Payment is expected on the date of service unless other financial arrangements have been made. For services requiring lab-work such as dentures, appliances, and bridges, 50 percent of the estimated cost must be paid prior to the fabrication of your device. The remaining balance shall be paid on the date of placement.

What financial arrangements are available?

Patient financing options are available through Lending Club. Please visit lendingclub.com/dental for University of Kentucky or speak to one of our Financial Counselors for assistance.

Who can I contact with a question about my bill?

Our Billing & Collections staff are available for billing questions Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm. Please call 859-323-4935.

Do I have to have insurance to be seen?

UK Dentistry treats patients whether insured or not.  

How long will it take to receive my refund?

Refund checks are issued through the University of Kentucky Treasury Services Department. Once requested, it may take approximately 2-3 weeks to receive a refund. Please contact Billing & Collections at 859-257-2427 to request or check the status of a refund.

How do I request a receipt for Flexible Spending or tax purposes?

Detailed statements for Flexible Spending or other purposes are available by contacting Billing & Collections at 859-323-1741.

How can I make a payment?

There are several ways to pay your bill. Payment instructions differ depending on date of service. Please review the below options carefully.  

  • In-person: UK Dentistry accepts check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
  • Online: Balances for services performed prior to June 5, 2021, must be paid via another method. To pay online for services performed June 5, 2021 and later, please visit mychart.uky.edu
  • Mail: Payment by check or money order can also be mailed. For balances for services performed prior to June 5, 2021, mail to: UK Dentistry, PO Box 931095, Cleveland, OH 44193. For balances for services performed June 5, 2021 or later, mail to: UK Healthcare, PO Box 951319, Cleveland, OH  44193.
  • Phone: Balances for services performed prior to June 5, 2021, can be paid using a credit card by calling 859-323-3368. To make a payment for services performed June 5, 2021 and later, please call UK HealthCare Customer Service at (859) 257-7900 or (800) 967-2131.

Why haven’t I received a statement? 

Statements are mailed once per month when a patient balance is due. Call Billing & Collections at 859-323-4935 if you are in need of a statement.

Are there any discounts available?

UK Dentistry offers several different clinic types: Expert faculty dental clinics; Resident clinics (dentists receiving advanced training and education); Dental student clinics. Dental students and residents offer more competitive rates for services while fees for faculty services are comparable to those of other private dental practices.
