The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry congratulates Audrey Kinder and Robert Wertke, the recipients of the 2017 UKCD Alumni Association Scholarship. The awards, which are presented to two students in the top 50 percent of the fourth-year class, are worth $2,500 each.
Both Kinder and Wertke expressed great gratitude in being chosen among so many qualified applicants. For Kinder, this is a tremendous contribution towards her post-graduation goals. “This scholarship will allow me to put more funds towards my recently purchased practice in Pineville and fulfill my dream of provide dental care for rural areas in Southeastern Kentucky,” she said.
Wertke, a native of Wheaton, Illinois, shared a similar thankfulness: “As an out-of-state dental student, this money put toward my tuition will greatly help me continue to afford my education in dentistry and pursue my passion for patient care and service.”
The UKCD Alumni Association Scholarship seeks to recognize deserving dental students who have performed well academically and display outstanding commitment to leadership and community service. This year’s awards were presented during the UKCD Fall Symposium and Alumni Weekend.
