“Cannabis and Cannabinoids as an Emerging Risk Factor for Periodontal Diseases”

At the S3 Meetings, presentations are given by the various dental subspecialties, and following each presentation, experts in the audience—including general and specialty dentists—discuss the unique cases and challenges that present at the UK College of Dentistry.  The goal of these rounds is to assist those in attendance in staying at the forefront of dental treatments and technology in use at the UK College of Dentistry.
 
  • This S3 Meeting will be presented in a hybrid format. 
  • 1 CE credit will be provided to all who complete their course evaluation.

1. Discuss how cannabis use is an emerging risk factor for destructive periodontal disease.

2. Explain how cannabis and phytocannabinoids may negatively influence oral microbial homeostasis and the immune response to dental plaque.

The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider.
