University of Kentucky College of Dentistry Predoctoral Implant Program Director Dr. Ahmad Kutkut was recently promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.
Dr. Kutkut began teaching at UK in September 2011. In addition to overseeing the school’s predoctoral implant program, he also organizes the annual dental implant symposium and has developed several new courses in implantology and prosthodontics. He holds membership in several professional organizations including the American Dental Education Association, American College of Prosthodontics, and the International Team for Implantologist.
Throughout the years, Dr. Kutkut has remained actively involved in research both independently and as a faculty mentor to students. He is the recipient of the 2017 UKCD Dean’s Research Award and recently earned ICOI Diplomate Status — the highest credential awarded by the International Congress of Oral Implantologist.
In the next five years, Dr. Kutkut plans to pursue full professorship as he continues to equip students to become outstanding dentists in both implantology and prosthodontics. He thanks Dean Kyrkanides for his unwavering commitment to faculty development.
“Since Dr. Kyrkanides' arrival, his vision was clear in supporting the future of the profession by investing in faculty development, technology, and quality education. It is a great joy to be promoted as a reward for hard work,” Dr. Kutkut said.
Dr. Kutkut received his dental degree at University of Jordan in Amman, Implant Dentistry fellowship at NYU, and Prosthodontic certificate at SUNY at buffalo. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in clinical and translational science and working towards board certification in prosthodontics.
