The American Association for Women Dentists (AAWD), a club that empowers and encourages women within the dental community, at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) recently hosted the Cusp of Carabelli Masquerade Ball. The event welcomed over 100 attendees consisting of students, faculty, and staff, and included a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Greenhouse 17.  

“Greenhouse 17 has been the philanthropic recipient of AAWD for several years, so we wanted to continue to support them given our club's history with the organization. Additionally, the organization supports women, so we couldn't have chosen a better organization,” shared Victoria Crane, UKCD Class of 2025 and AAWD Vice President.  

Greenhouse 17 is an advocacy agency committed to ending intimate partner abuse in families and the community that currently serves 17 counties in Kentucky. The funds raised at the silent auction amounted to $2,586 and will be used to provide dental care to the survivors at Greenhouse17.  

Reena Martin, Greenhouse 17 Community Relations Manager, shared, "We are so thankful for the longtime partnership with the American Association of Women Dentists and the UK College of Dentistry. This partnership helps build confidence in survivors of intimate partner abuse to finally smile again."
