The survey link will be available between January 24 through February 25.
The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is launching its inaugural dental education-wide climate study for all U.S. and Canadian dental schools and allied dental education programs. The UK College of Dentistry is excited to participate in this historical initiative. ADEA has partnered with Nonprofit HR, a consulting firm, to implement the climate study. The two organizations have worked closely with the ADEA Collaborative on Dental Education Climate Assessment (ADEA CDECA) to develop the climate survey instrument. CDECA is composed of a group of independent researchers, students, faculty, and administrators representing U.S. and Canadian dental schools and allied dental education programs.
On January 24, UKCD faculty, staff, and DMD students will receive an email with a link inviting them to participate in the ADEA Climate Study. Participation is voluntary, however, every DMD student, faculty, and staff member are encouraged to complete this important climate survey to assist in gathering data that will be used to develop strategies in support of a more inclusive and welcoming dental education environment for all persons.
Completing the ADEA Climate Survey will allow DMD students, faculty, and staff to share their perspectives regarding: the climate, wellbeing, and belonging, recruitment and retention efforts and experiences related to diversity, equity, and inclusion programming. By completing the survey, each of us has the opportunity to contribute valuable insight to the future of UKCD and dental education.
