I have been treating patients with many types of problems for more than 20 years. Currently, my clinical practice focuses on treatment of periodontal diseases, mucogingival problems, such as gingival recessions, gingival recessions associated with non-carious cervical lesions, and soft tissue problems around implants. In addition, I have been rehabilitating patients who need implant therapy (with or without bone graft). Finally, I have been working with other colleagues from different specialties, such as Orthodontics, Prosthodontics (Restorative) and Endodontics, in order to improve the integration among the dental specialties and provide better clinical outcomes for our patients.
I have different research focuses:
- Treatment of gingival recession: development of new and more predictable surgical procedures for the treatment of this defect.
- Treatment of Periodontitis: development of new and more predictable procedures for the treatment of different forms of Periodontitis.
- Wound healing: this topic focuses on understanding the wound healing process, how the inflammation can drive the repair process, the biomarkers and the development of new strategies to accelerate the healing process.
