  • Discovery and investigation of genetic factors associated with normal growth and pathology in dentistry and or medicine.
  • Whole Exome Sequencing of families with Class III and Class II div 2 to identify causal genes for the malocclusion (in conjunction with Dr. Lorri Morford).
  • Three-dimensional facial imaging for syndrome diagnosis; and/or orthodontic and orthognathic surgery diagnosis, treatment planning and outcome assessment. Will focus on this while on sabbatical in Western Australia for 3 months in early 2020.
  • Investigation of known genetic variants associated with variation of facial growth during puberty and the use of mandibular protrusive functional appliances (in conjunction with Dr. Lorri Morford and collaboration with Dr. Lorenzo Franchi and others). This is to help understand in pubertal growth variation seen in even compliant functional appliance (such as the twin block in Italy) patients.
